How the Lord provies!

I love my chickens,    and Love being able to bring fresh foods in.
So Thankful for how the Lord blesses <3

Palm Sunday

What a blessing it was,  to be able to go to church and worship Jesus in the midst of other believers.   Hear his word preached and praise him in song!!
And Brooklynn got to wear her new homemade dress from Grandma!

 Pure amazingness!

I highly recommend!      Chicken street taco's

Homemade and fairly healthy with good ingredients!

We always go to a local restaurant and order these,  It's delicious but costly by the time we fill a growing boy.    So We decided to make them at home,  and my gosh.  Every bit as good as what's ordered.

Eating GOOD, affordable, and healthy does not have to be impossible,  you just got to get a little creative  ;)

and Of course.   It doesn't hurt that momma loves food photography and takes any chance she can to snap a photo.

Well look here!

We have an Americana Breed of chicken, who is supposed to lay cute little blue "Easter" eggs,   and we were wondering where the heck these great promised eggs were....

Clearly, she is NOT a fan of the nesting boxes our coop provides.

ADHD

Its something we research a lot and are always looking for natural methods of helping Ben.    He's doing great in general but still struggles with focusing on his school work and lessons being taught.   He gets distracted a lot,   and most times we all laugh about and joke around,   But anytime we hear of ways to naturally help him,  we are very interested and research it.

We recently got in contact with a Natural Dr in the area,  who specializes in Neurologically based Chiropractic care.     After talking with him in-depth,  we have very high hopes that not only can he help lesson the symptoms of ADHD,   but also help the body to connect the nervous system in a way that it actually cures it.  His goal is to get right to the source of the ADHD and stop messing around with bandade quick fixes.

We are very hopeful and even if we don't see a huge difference on the ADHD end,  The benefits of the care are amazing in other areas and certainly will not hurt!    Releasing toxins,  and helping the immune system is always huge in my book!     Ben has already gotten his first 3 visit with the Dr in and loves going!   I cant wait to share with you the positive results!

A week late....

 But whos keeping track.

A little girl enjoyed a wonderful 4th birthday,   full of smiles, and most of the things she requested.     As I shared in the post before,  She wanted chicken nuggets,  mac n' cheese,  and chocolate cake!

We made the chocolate cake 100% from scratch,    I so badly wanted to get a quick easy box mix,  But I thought making one homemade would be so much more special for her,  and of course much healthier.     And we did a good job!  It turned out delicious!    A rich cream cheese frosting,  and a cocao powder cake.    she was so pleased with it,   and really did help me with the process a lot!    Of course, her job was licking the beaters with the frosting!

After cake making and many other little things to make her day special,    We headed to Bens School early for pickup with several boxes of individually wrapped little Debbie type cakes (due to covid,  Homemade wasn't really an option for this particular part of her celebration) and walked through the school handing out the treats to the Pastors,  teachers,  school workers,  and many students (all with permission of course) while Brooklynn said "It's my Birthday and I want to celebrate with you!"

Everyone loved it!    And she had so much fun handing them out!

To close out the evening we had her requested meal,   along with Birthday song singing,  and candle blowing.      Her gift delivery was delayed,   But thankfully she never mentioned getting a gift all day.

It was just a precious day of celebrating 4 full years of her life.

A story about kindness

And the reason I LOVE Supporting small businesses!

Brooklynn had a few special requests for her Birthday yesterday- (more details will follow in later posts),   To have chicken nuggets and mack'n cheese for dinner,  and chocolate cake for dessert.

Easy peasy peasy right!?

So after dropping Ben off at school in the morning Brooklynn and I ran to our small town Grocery store to grab a few things for our day's baking adventures,    and of course, upon walking in we excitedly shared that it was her birthday and she was turning 4.     The manager gave her a high five,  and he and a couple of employees had some fun conversations with her,  and then the manager handed her a basket full of goodies like paints,  sculptures to paint, markers, a journal,  and packs of candy- while wishing her a huge "happy birthday!",      We then continued on with our shopping, and later as we were checking out the employees around stopped to make a big deal of her special day.    Speaking to her by name,  and talking about how old she is,  her cake that she's gonna get,  and made her feel so special.

That's what you get at small local shops.   Personalization.   You're a person with a name.

This particular store gets a lot of flak from many people I know.   The prices are too high, the Food isn't the best and etc... But I can promise you this.  We go to this store all the time,  and we are greeted by a friendly familiar face and spoken to like we matter.    The manager is always approachable and goes out of his way to address us.  And The treatment my little girl got today,  you would NEVER get that at a big-time store.   None of the chain stores barely even bother to smile at us half the time let alone personalize a conversation with my 4-year-old and give her a gift on her birthday.

When we got home,   she was so happy that she painted him a homemade thank you card,  and hand-delivered it later in the day,   As soon as she walked in the store and saw him,  she ran right up to him and gave him her card.    He was so touched and scooped her up in a big hug.

They've secured our business today.   Not because of the gift they gave, but the kindness they showed.

Dress your best!

A fun thing they're doing at school and Ben went all out today!

We knew he's grown a ton in the last year but after he got dressed and was almost bursting at the seams in his suit we realized just HOW MUCH!   He insisted on wearing it one last time though and looked oh so handsome.

Bitter sweet moments.

Emotions are running high tonight as I put my little girl to bed for the last time as a 3 year old,   for tomorrow she turns 4.
Where has the time gone?   Why do they have to grow up so fast?
Why do I feel such sadness?

Homelearning

A fun way to learn. We write her name while enjoying "art class"

Introduction!

I guess there is no good way of starting a blog besides jumping right in right in?

 I'm excited!
I'll start with sharing a little about us!

First and foremost,   I love Jesus with all my heart and strive to honor him in all that I am.      I fail every day in Human flesh, but His mercies are new every morning and His Grace is sufficient.
I pray that through this blog I can encourage you in your walk with him and together we can become "proverbs 31" women.    Always remember that God is good,  and If we seek him,  we will find him.

My husband Matt and I raise our 2 children near a small town in Michigan,  We live on 5 acres of land Where we farm chickens for meat and eggs, have a cat named "fluff-ball" and grow a big garden.   We're trying to talk daddy into Dogs, Cows,  Goats, ducks, and more... but so far that not working.   It's become more of a family joke now and we love to tease daddy about our big pipe dreams.

Our son has ADHD and struggles bad with focus and learning,  To help him, a few years back we started on a lifestyle change of eliminating sugars,  food colorings, and processed foods out of our diets and try to eat mostly home-cooked meals with organic or locally raised meats.    It's been very effective!
We also understand the need of being balanced and very much enjoy a {not so healthy} treat here and there!      We trust the Lord to protect us from all elements,  in and out, and trust that he will bless our efforts to do better when we can and knows our hearts when we relax and have a junk food day every once in a while.  We've learned that moderation in these things is key.

That brings us to our son Benjamin who is 11 years old.   He is in 5th Grade, He absolutely loves his sports and as the months go on,   you'll see more about his wrestling,  basketball,  his spunky personality, and love for life.   He's a complete character,  accident-prone,   drives us nuts, and makes us smile every day.   Rarely a dull moment with him around.      He struggles to make friends and "fit in" but as you get to know his heart,  you fall in love with him.

Our little girl Brooklynn turns 4 this week!    She is our Miracle Baby and by "worldly standards"  truly an impossible gift from God.    He has blessed us beyond words with her and we are all so thankful!
We are currently homeschooling her at a very easygoing pace for a 3-year preschool.   Trying to make it fun and exciting as we learn our A, B, C's,  colors, and shapes.   We are not sure if we will continue with home learning this fall or if she'll go to school with Ben and praying for guidance in that area.
Brooklynn is 100% girly.   Loves her fancy dresses,  the color pink,  playing with her barbies, baby dolls,  and loves helping with "chores".   She would live outside if it never got cold and enjoys helping feed the animals.   She is a Mommas girl all day,   but once daddy gets home she is his constant sidekick.   No matter what he is doing,   Shes there,  right by his side.   and He loves every minute of it.

And that's "us"
